Community Outreach
Members of the Parkinson Disease Center and Movement Disorders Clinic have donated their time and expertise in a number of community events designed to increase public awareness about movement disorders. In addition to the annual Huntington’s Disease Society of America run/walk, members of the PDCMDC have participated in the Tourette Camp sponsored by the Texas Chapter of the Tourette Syndrome Association, in the Sol & Miriam Rogers Golf Tournament held annually in Beaumont, and in the ¡Vive Tu Vida! Community Health Fair sponsored by the Houston Hispanic Health Coalition, part of our outreach activities for the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence.
Faculty and staff from the PDCMDC came out to support the 6th Annual HDSA Houston Area Run/Walk “Walking for A Cure – Team Hope”, for the Huntington Disease Society of America, Texas Affiliate.
