The Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine is a consortium made up of several institutions across the Texas Medical Center. The Duncan Cancer Center at BCM brings together all of the cancer-related activities from across these institutions under one umbrella, fast-tracking our efforts to prevent and ultimately cure cancer in all its forms.

Teens with cancer get more than just medical treatment

It's hard enough being a teenager, but when teens are diagnosed with cancer, issues such as poor self-esteem and body image are magnified. The Adolescent program at Texas Children's Cancer Center offers emotional support on top of medical treatment.

The Texas Children's Cancer Center launched its adolescent program about four years ago, when staff realized that teens' emotional needs were not being met in the same way as the younger patients. Read full article...
